Executive Board > David Weiner
Born and raised in Los Angeles, and married since 2011, Kimmy and David are a long-time, animal-loving Vegan couple who live by their shared truth that it's the obligation of humans to treat all beings as we wish to be treated. Together they strive to protect, respect, and defend nonhuman animals; the most vulnerable beings by far. This happy couple has long been dedicated to animal rights advocacy/education/outreach, responsible activism, and rescue.
Kimmy and David come from opposite worlds; among other endeavors, Kimmy's background is that of art, dance performance, choreography, and writing. David has enjoyed a long career journalism, and is currently an editor at City News Service (CNS).
Both began volunteering with BWF in 2014, and have since adopted over 17 rescued bunnies, and fostered many. Both have occupied core roles within BWF over these many years; Kimmy as Social Media Admin/Content Creator, Educator, Mentor, Bunny Housing Approval, Mediator, Foster, Writer, and more. David has volunteered countless hours of labor at BWF Adoption Events, weekly multi-tasking & maintenance shifts caring for groups of BWF bunnies, brushing BWF bunnies, and transporting emergency bunnies during BWF rescue missions.
Kimmy and David have the utmost admiration for all who give their time, effort, resources, and talents to this very noble mission of love for the world's most misunderstood & mistreated companion animal; domestic rabbits. Though haunted by the horrors suffered by the poor, fragile rabbits, Kimmy and David are grateful to BWF for the opportunities to positively impact the terrible plight of this most vulnerable and deserving species.
