🖐GOOD NEWS - BAD NEWS REGARDING THE HIGH-KILL SHELTER: Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA)

💓GOOD NEWS FIRST! You saw these three little angels dumped at the high-kill shelter SEAACA (https://www.seaaca.org/) were scheduled to be killed by Animal Control yesterday 11/8. BWF set-out to rescue them, but our one-and-only foster offer fell through, (unable to house them safely indoors due to unpredictable dogs), so these babies were again at risk of euthanasia...
We spent a night in trepidation as SEAACA gives no extensions. Once they provide the PTS (put to sleep) date, they don't budge, no matter how much you beg or negotiate. So it's a matter of when SEAACA staff are available to give them the death injection….

We were devastated…. But then at 2:00am, we received an email offer of fostering for the trio from one of our trusted adopters who recently adopted TWO buns from BWF to be husbuns to her sweet ladbun. So, there we were - drafting the foster agreement that got signed at 3:00am, getting our transporter to rush to SEAACA at 8:00am, and getting all three darlings to our Vet in Irvine to determine their sexes, get fully examined, spayed/neutered and more...

What a stressful race against time, but now DWYER (23-03379), DEVONELLA (23-03380), and DELANEY (23-03381), (aka Flopsy, Mopsy, and Bopsy) are SAFE! 🥹 Look at those faces! OMB...

❣️🤲Thank you, ROSEANNE, for agreeing to foster this stunningly adorable trio until adopted and for signing the BWF's "scary" Foster Agreement. Thank you, MARYBETH, for getting to SEAACA as early as you could yesterday to prevent the killing spree. Thank you, JANE, for helping with rebonding of the siblings. Thank you, DAVID, for giving these babies a voice via FB and IG. Thank you, MICHAEL, for picking them up from Irvine and transporting them to their foster after successful surgeries. Thank you, DR. ROBERTS, for squeezing them in on your busy day and sending us these beautiful photos while they were boarding for the day at Northwood Animal Hospital. Thank you, DAISY, for making a generous donation towards their boarding to buy them time.

🙏As you can see, quite a few or our awesome villagers stepped-up to help these babies, but we now we must cover their Vet bills, and prepare for upcoming crises - as apparently TEN MORE bunnies are currently scheduled to be DESTROYED at SEAACA right now...

⚠️How on earth do we get ten bunnies fostered in TWO days? Seems like an impossible task… Well, that's the bad news. No matter what we do, it seems it's never enough as there are ever-more bunnies to save. Still, we cannot capitulate without trying.
