Have you worked with other animal rescue groups or shelters? If so, which ones?
Please list all current pets below, including age. Are they spayed/neutered? Do they have any medical conditions?
Have you had rabbits in the past? If yes, how many and please describe how you cared for the rabbits, including diet, living situation, and medical care.
If you currently have a rabbit, do you understand that introducing a strange rabbit(s) into their space may affect their behavior? Do you have a “neutral” territory for your foster rabbits, separated from your personal rabbit(s)?
Have you ever bred any other animal for profit? If yes, please describe.
Do you plan on getting any other animals while fostering? If yes, what kind?
Please list names and ages of all people in your household, and indicate who will be primarily responsible for rabbit care.
Does any member of your family have any allergies to animals or hay?
Do you own your own house or rent an apartment? How long have you been at your current residence? If you rent, please secure your landlord’s permission before fostering a rabbit.
Is your home bunny-proofed? (Electric cords are covered, there are no chemicals on the floors, toxic plants have been removed from the rabbit’s living and play areas, etc.)
Are you aware that rabbits like to chew and may want to chew the carpet or furniture? What will you do if they do this? Is there any behavior you cannot accept in a rabbit?
What type of enclosure are you planning to use for the rabbits and where will they live?
Describe the ways you plan to allow the rabbits to exercise, number of hours, space, etc.
Rabbits require regular brushing/grooming to prevent GI stasis, a potentially fatal condition. Do you have any experience grooming rabbits? A BWF-approved groomer is available for lessons or regular grooming sessions for a fee.
Do we have permission to visit your home?
If you go away on vacation, who will take care of the rabbits?
What is your veterinarian’s name and contact information?
Would you be able to take the rabbits to a BWF approved veterinarian if they required emergency medical care?
Rabbits are very fragile creatures and even with the best medical care, there is a possibility that a bunny will die in your care, do you feel you’d be able to handle this?
What would you do with the rabbits if your living situation changes or a family member develops an allergy?
Under what circumstances would you not be able to keep the rabbit?
How did you hear about Bunny World Foundation?
Are you interested in other volunteer opportunities with BWF?
Would you be interested in adopting the rabbits you agree to foster?
