National Nonprofit Petco Love Invests in Bunny World Foundation To Save and Improve the Lives of Rabbits in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Los Angeles, CA (January 20, 2025)—Bunny World Foundation is set to receive a $15,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $433 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with more than 7.1 million pets adopted and counting.
“Our investment in Bunny World Foundation is part of more than $12M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Chelsea Staley, Petco Love President. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost and found database that uses photo-matching technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
“Bunny World Foundation is deeply honored to be a recipient of the funds designated to assist 150 bunnies rescued from LA Wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area during winter of 2025,” said Lejla Hadzimuratovic, President and Founder of Bunny World Foundation.
Bunny World Foundation (BWF) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Its mission is to combat animal cruelty, illegal animal sales, exploitation, and neglect through rescue, public education, investigations, legislation, and community outreach. Primarily dedicated to reducing rabbit overpopulation and establishing rabbits as companion animals deserving of the same care and respect as cats and dogs, BWF operates one of the most comprehensive rabbit foster and adoption programs in the United States. With the support of approximately 150 volunteers, the organization rescues and rehomes between 1,000 and 1,500 rabbits each year, providing medical treatment, Spay/Neuter services, supplies, and specialized care for abandoned and abused animals. Over the past 17 years, BWF has rescued more than 20,000 rabbits across Los Angeles and has grown into one of the largest rabbit welfare organizations in the world. In 2024 alone, BWF provided care and permanent homes for over 1,500 rabbits and hosted more than 60 adoption events and educational workshops in partnership with municipal shelters and humane societies throughout Southern California.
